"Paradise Retreat

This was the nicest place we stayed at in Belize. Clean, quiet and relaxing place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even baked a cake for my wife's birthday. We are planning on making this an annual trip and we are going to bring friends. I would choose Parrot cove if you want a quite relaxing stay!

“Being a Tourist in my Own Country”
Reviewed March 24, 2011

Being in the tourism industry and coming off of a busy winter holiday, I needed a quiet weekend to relax away from home. Haven't been to Hopkins in a few years and have heard other Belizeans talk about the great price and accommodations at Parrot Cove...I made my choice. Important to note, many of us in the industry don't have the opportunity to be able to enjoy our own country so when you hear other Belizeans talk highly of a location, you know it is something worthwhile.
It was exactly what the doctor ordered. After an easy check in they escorted us to our Suite at Parrot Cove. We were booked in for 2 nights. The room was so comfortable and cozy that I was worried that I wouldn't want to leave. The suite had a mini kitchen unit with a fridge, microwave and coffeemaker and dining/sitting area. I had the best dreams ever in the king size bed. The hot water with the strong pressure made my showers memorable. Lol!! Coming from a Belizean that travels quite a bit in Belize...I know about Hot water and water pressure. This spot has it both. The pool was extremely clean with a nice little waterfall. I enjoyed reading my newspaper near the poolside with a great drink from the bar. Didn't have the opportunity to eat at the restaurant, invited out by friends...but the place had quite a few guest dining both nights.
Beach area was nice. They had two hammocks to sit and enjoy the Caribbean breeze and a few lounge chairs. Nice quiet spot in the midst of paradise.
I did have the opportunity to see the standard units and they are very nice. I am excited to return very soon with my teenage daughter

“Perfect Tropical Getaway”
Reviewed March 9, 2010

Very secluded area of Belize - more of a local feel, away from the crazy fast pace of major tourist spots. We were able to bike ride into Hopkins Village, meet the locals, and eat their wonderful gourmet food.
Parrot Cove Lodge still offers many sightseeing trips, sea excursions, and tourist attractions. The hotel was Very Clean and well managed with an excellent staff.
I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a romantic getaway or just a tropical paradise.

“Chef Rob's is the place to be in Belize!”
Reviewed July 15, 2011

My wife and I were on our way to Placencia and we decided to stop by and try the place out. The exterior is very welcoming and inviting. Verandah and interior was indeed a delight. Very rustic, romantic and invites you to hang out after your meal. Inside the building is a very intimate bar where you can watch Chef Rob doing his thing in the kitchen. Since we were in a hurry we only had 2 courses (aps and main course). We had the watermelon and basil salad and it was awesome! The fresh flavors colliding in your taste buds was extremely delicious! And the shrimp red curry we had was exceptional.

We left Hopkins looking forward to While in Placencia we decided to try out the "restaurant of the year" which is The Bistro at Maya Beach and it was really good as well except the soup I ordered was colder than lukewarm, kinda disappointing considering the award they got that the following day we drove back to Hopkins just to have dinner again at Chef Rob's. This time we had the luxury of having the 4-course prix fixe and were never disappointed. Thank you Chef Rob and Corrie for those memorable meals and my wife and I will surely be back!

"Great Local Food, Nice Price”

We enjoyed one evening at Chef Rob's. The food was delicious. He serves a 4 course meal for $30 per person. Drinks extra. The service was good, with good recommendations from the wait staff. The atmosphere was nice and casual. We had a great time.

“Culinary Heaven in Hopkins”
Reviewed June 24, 2011

If I were a Michelin reviewer, I'd award some stars to this restaurant! 3 of us had "Lobster Robert" and the 4th person had Beef Tenderloin -- we all raved about our dinners. Each course in the 4-course meal is beautifully presented, and the overall ambience at the restaurant (decor, music, service) far exceed what you expect to find in a village the size of Hopkins.

“A Friendly and Professional Dive Operation”
Reviewed September 25, 2011

I dove with Hopkins Underwater Adventures as part of a group of 5 divers and 1 snorkeler. HUA was fantastic at guiding us to pristine and calm sites, even on days when the wind was blowing in strongly. They listened to our interests and customized the days' outings to fit what we wanted. Everyone at HUA, from the owners to the boat captain, was friendly, knowledgeable, and a delight to dive with.
Prior to arriving, we changed our plans several times and HUA was always gracious and prompt in helping us with our plans. Once we arrived, HUA provided excellent suggestions on sites that would be shallow enough for our snorkeler, but still interesting for the divers. The lunch meals were delicious and often homemade, a nice bonus to the excellent diving. I would dive again with Hopkins Underwater Adventures anytime!

“Fantastic People, Amazing Diving, Excellent Equipment”
Reviewed May 29, 2011

My husband, myself and our two teenage sons spent a week diving with Hopkins Underwater Adventures. Declan and Lucie, along with their crew, Biggie, Lucky and Buff, made sure everything was looked after from start to finish. They are professional, experienced and provide all the attention to detail that anyone could ask for. They know the area well and where the bests dive spots are located. We saw a vast variety of marine life on all of our dives and thoroughly enjoyed the time spent on the very comfortable dive boat on the trips out and back from the various dive sites. All the dive equipment is new, well maintained and a pleasure to use. Declan and his team think of every detail and are such a pleasure to spend time with. I would highly recommend Hopkins Underwater Adventures for anyone thinking of diving in Belize, you will not be disappointed. We look forward to going back on our next dive vacation. What an amazing trip!!!
